I adore albums. They are the perfect way to display the images from your session in a timeless, beautiful, heirloom. If it were up to me, every client would walk away with an album. I just shipped off this adorable album of this little girl’s entire first year. How great will it be to look back on that as she grows up and remember all those treasured milestones?

Congratulations!! It was a close call this year. Thank you to everyone who took the time to stop by and vote. Your love and support continues to amaze me every day. This cutie was in the lead for the majority of the contest, but there were two others giving him a run for his money. There are no prizes for 2nd or 3rd place, but I thought you’d like to meet the runners up.

Wow…am I really posting summer sessions? This was indeed a busy fall! I am obsessed with this girl’s hair ~ how could I not be?

In other AMP news, I am very excited to announce my involvment in the Washington Park District’s winter class line-up! My photography class  is available to residents and non-residents in the Washington area. Over the course of two nights we will cover a ton of photography basics. This class is for those of you who have a super nice camera or just a regular little point and shoot, and want to learn how to take better pictures of those adorable kids of yours. You can sign up two ways:

Happy New Year!! What a year it has been! The new year is a great thing. A clean slate. It is, of course, the perfect opportunity to step back and take stock of your life. Which is kind of what I am doing today. In my very unofficial way. There are many many things to be happy for in 2010, many things to look forward to in 2011 and many things I would like to change in 2011. We’ll see how it goes . That being said, one of the areas of my life that gets a major under-the-microscope review every year is my business. Anastasia Marie Photography. And while that’s happening, I can’t help but pull together a collection of my very favorite images from the year. That is why I am writing today, to bring to you Anastasia Marie Photography’s 2nd annual Photo of the Year contest! The only criteria in choosing these was that they generally make me happy. They give me goosebumps. They make my heart smile.

The winner of this year’s contest will receive a gorgeous 11×14 print of the winning photo! *if they happen to already own an 11×14 print of this photo, we’ll make arrangements to get them a diffferent print *.

We had the absolute best weekend. Hurried as it was, we got to spend it with very cherished friends and family and wouldn’t have had it any other way. Hailey actually kept us out for about an hour of trick-or-treating this year…our first!! She was so thrilled with the whole idea of knocking on the door and people giving her candy. But I don’t know which one of us had a better time. I was in heaven . 

And as I’m going through the photos I took yesterday, I realized I have very few of the front of our little Tinkerbell :/. Oi…it’s been that kind of a month. So I added that one of her in her adorable gloves and hat before we headed out to our annual neighborhood Halloween bonfire. It was taken with my much loved point and shoot…don’t judge .

To all my clients waiting for their galleries…I’m working on them! With the move and the busy shooting schedule, proofing is taking just a tad longer than usual. But no worries, I will have them to all of you who are waiting shortly .

Well, I definitely broke my streak of blogging every other day. It was only a matter of time…I hate to admit it, but I’m not one for consistency. I guess I have good reason for my absence though. The other day, I let my facebook fans in on a little secret…that 2 big announcements were being made to my current clients, and everyone else would soon be in the know.

The first big reveal is a doozy. Here is a clip of the newsletter that went out to my clients:

So there you have it. We’re off. Like I said…very mixed emotions surround this  move. One one hand, we are thrilled beyond words to finally be near family. On the other hand, our hearts are heavy and we are heartbroken to leave the incredible friends we’ve made here. But no worries…we will be back . I expect you all to continue booking sessions with me and referring me to all your coolest friends and family. You have all helped me from the very beginning and I couldn’t just turn away from that. Plus…Hailey needs a chance to see her little besties .

Now…what’s the second big announcement you ask? No…I’m not pregnant. This is a dangerous game, telling people you’ve got news. Imagine for a second that you’re me. This past week has been filled with conversations just like this:

Stacy: Hey!
Innocent Friend: Hey!
Stacy: So, we’ve got some news for you…
Innocent Friend: eyes light up, smile forms, “Are you…?!?!?”
Stacy: No…we’re moving…far away
Innocent Friend: eyes dim, confused frown forms, “Oh…”
Innocent Friend: I thought you were going to say you were pregnant!

Yeah…a week filled with crushing conversations. Not cool. I’ll talk more about the move and how much we’re going to miss everyone and what’s in store for the future of our family and AMP later. Right now its all a little much to take in.

Yep…another round of minis! I honestly thought this was not going to be possible this fall, but fate has made it work. Since my current clients had first dibs, there are already quite a few signed up and one date only has one spot left! So if you were thinking of booking a holiday mini session, now’s the time. Okay, I know it seems a tad early to be talking about the holidays. And don’t be mad at me…I, too, despise seeing Christmas tree displays up at the mall before Halloween (my favorite holiday of all time by the way!). However, we need to face the reality that the holidays will be here before we know it. And if beautiful family portraits for your holiday cards are on your list of things to do, we need to get moving! My available sessions are dwindling by the day, and if you want holiday cards, your session needs to happen before November 20. You can check out my 2010 holiday card lineup below, there are some gorgeous cards! These are just some of them, we do have more to work with to design a card just for you. So, think about the holidays just long enough to book your session and place your card order, and then you can forget about it until November!

PS ~ from now until November 20, if you book your session and purchase at least one set of holiday cards, you will receive a free set!

Just a reminder ~ Anastasia Minis mini sessions are happening Saturday August 14 & Friday August 27. There are only a handful of spots left, so get in touch to reserve yours! Details here.

 The sessions will be held Saturday August 14, 2010. Location will be announced closer to the date. Sessions will be in 20-30 minute segments and there are a very limited number available. Your session will not be reserved until I receive payment in full for either a Mini One or Mini Two session.
