Daddy tickles are the best. We dodged the rain tonight and got to shoot outside! This little cutie even got to hear my stupendous rendition of Itsy Bitsy Spider
. Lucky girl.

What an incredible week it’s been! First a two day wedding, then zipping up to Chicago for one of my best friend’s baby showers, then back home for the night, then we woke up bright and early the next day to drop Hailey off with Grandma and Grandpa for a 4 day vacation for all of us!
On the way back last night, the miles dragged especially well. We could not get home fast enough. I am very used to being with my girl every day, all day. so 4 days apart was about as much as I could handle. Although, I did tell Justin that I’m glad we took the time away. It has definitely left me refreshed and excited to spend the day with my little girl again.
…while I try not to think about the pile mountain of work that backed up while I was gone. As an example of just how far behind I am, here’s the March One. Frame. A. Day.’s for ya…oi…

Holy moly. I need to move to California. Like, now. It was somewhere in the upper 90′s with 198% humidity yesterday morning as we began our session at grandma’s house. I looked like I’d just jumped out of the lake by the time we were done, but at least we laughed our way through it.

This little angel was the happiest, most wide awake baby during our entire session this morning. Her mom made a valiant effort to get her to sleep, but she obviously was having just too much fun hanging out with me. I can’t say I blame her

We had so much fun that morning. We did nothing but play around in the back yard with trucks and water tables, swings and popsicles. Sounds like my idea of a fabulous Saturday morning. At-home sessions are truly my fave…everyone is more comfortable and relaxed and we can take our time and do what we need to to make the kiddos have a blast.

Sigh. What a weekend. We had a fabulous weekend. Lots of boating, friends, food, fun…and a minor catastrophe that was weighing heavily on my mind all weekend. But 10 minutes tonight made everything disappear. Possibly the most precious 4th of July fireworks ever. After a long day (long weekend), our little girl crashed by 7pm tonight. Around 9:30 we realized we would be blessed with an amazing view of the fireworks our town puts on right from our own backyard. Luck. It was too perfect not to go grab Hailey. So Justin ran up and grabbed her and brought a sleepy little 3 year old out rubbing her eyes. We stood there for a while watching the perfect view of the fireworks and when we told her “sorry we woke you up babe!” She said, “it’s okay guys” in the sweetest little whisper. She was in awe. I don’t know how we got so lucky. A memory I don’t ever want to forget.

Just a friendly reminder…I don’t think we do it nearly enough. Not much in life is worth being so serious over. There’s always room for laughter
