Well, I don’t really, but this little red head was such a cute little stinker! This little guy’s mommy hosted my mini sessions that day and he patiently waited until the end of the day for his turn. He has got the craziest red hair and the most gorgeous eyes I have ever seen! He is a lucky man to have entered into such a great family. He’s got parents who adore him and grandparents who adore him even more. It was an honor guys :) .

This sweet new family welcomed their first baby girl into the world 2 weeks ago. And this weekend they welcomed me into their home to photograph her. I am always beyond honored when I get to witness the new family in their first days of getting to know each other. We had to jump through some hoops but we won in the end ;) . To this baby girl’s mommy ~ I promise you we got more than our share of stunning photographs. Our patience and perseverance definitely paid off.

I don’t know about you guys, but we are ready for some sunshine this week! Don’t get me wrong…I LOVE (love love LOVE) storms! Nothing makes me happier than listening to the rain…the smell of rain (mmmmm!) the look of dramatic clouds, awesome lightning…ask me about the time we hung out on the roof of our house in college to watch a thunderstorm roll in! That was the coolest thing ever! However, there’s this thing that happens when you become a mom. It sucks the fun out of everything! :) Okay, I’m only kidding…but really, driving through St. Louis last night with Hailey in the car practically watching the clouds swirling in that nice little circular pattern above us was not cool. Tornadoes were being spotted all around us. Normally I would have been a happy girl to be around all the weather drama. But when you’ve got another little life you’re responsible for, the game totally changes. But we are very happy to be back safe and sound in our  nice little house and out of the crazy storms.

I just had to show you guys this little girl I had the honor of photographing. I know you will all agree with me when I say she is the definition of a classic beauty. Look at that smile! She was such a sweetheart and I loved hanging out with her! She was truly such a pleasure to photograph because she made it easy as pie.

You might remember this post from a while back. I got to hang out with a great group of families for the afternoon and photograph the kids just being kids. The sneak peek did not do them justice, so I thought they deserved a little more blog time :) . This little guy stole my heart. For real. He was a total natural, loved my camera…and check out that outfit?! Mom is amazing herself!

And lets take a second to talk about that wall…I am IN LOVE with it Katie!! She did an amazing job decorating her little guy’s nursery and I am pretty sure I will be attempting that in my next nursery.

I’m warning you…during my shoots…someone is likely to get tickled.

Let’s start off with some wise words from a wise cowboy shall we?

Don’t blink
Just like that you’re six years old and you take a nap and you
Wake up and you’re twenty-five and your high school sweetheart becomes your wife
Don’t blink
You just might miss your babies growing like mine did
Turning into moms and dads next thing you know your “better half”
Of fifty years is there in bed
And you’re praying God takes you instead
Trust me friend a hundred years goes faster than you think
So don’t blink

Dear Hailey,

Another month down. We’re planning for your birthday party. Your second birthday party. Yes, I obviously have a hard time with this. We’ll move on :) . Last weekend I think you made your dad the proudest father in the world. You were helping him “spring clean” the garage. I came out to check on you two and found him beaming with pride as you so happily helped him screw something onto the bottom of the lawn mower. Daddy’s little helper :) .

Let’s see. What’s new this month…the weather has changed dramatically and it is officially spring. The last time it was nice outside, you weren’t so sure about ‘playing’ outside. Now, however, the very first thing {literally the very first thing} you say in the morning when I come in to get you is “outide?! outide?!” You cannot get enough! You’re making friends with all the other little kiddos in the neighborhood and it is the cutest thing ever! Every night you run through the list of names and it goes something like this:

Kateyn (Katelyn)…ome (home)
Ella….ome
Url (Katelyn and Ella’s dog)…ome
Ben…ome
Amam (Adam)…ome
etc, etc, etc…

It really is the cutest thing in the world :) . The look on your face when you say “ome” is priceless. {Note to self: must get that on video!}

You are becoming little miss independent. You are exactly sure what you want to do and what you do not want to do. And you are very much okay with saying “No…I do, I do” ~ again…pretty darn cute :) . This is especially cute when you have to go “potty” {which, in reality, means you already did and just want to sit on your Tinkerbell potty seat  and flush} and you run up the stairs and tell us “No…no” and hold up your hand for us to stop as we follow you up the stairs. Once or twice I’ve let you go just to see what you’ll do. I think you get a kick out of being in the bathroom by yourself because you just stand there and smile proudly :) .

We love you sweet baby girl.
xoxo,
mom & dad

Do we all remember the chaotic post from a while back? Well I’m going on strike. For the next 90 minutes or so at least. Netflix dropped off About A Boy weeks ago and its been sitting here waiting to be watched. So I’m taking a break today to sit down at watch a movie. I have an awful track record when it comes to picking out movies though…so I dn’t have high hopes :) . Feeling incredibly guilty about it though, I sit here with my laptop feeling like I should post something here.

So…what else is clogging up my computer screen lately?  Trendy Peas. Tons of cute prints, wall decals, personalized stationary, etc. Check it out!

This is what happens when you desperately want a photo of your daughter, and she desperately wants to watch Tinkerbell…you compromise and give her your husband’s sunglasses and take what you can get. :)

Project Nursery

Posted on April 9, 2010

I’m in trouble…

I come across stuff like this all. the. time. And now my brain is full, and can’t handle any more. So I figured why not pass the lovliness on and get it off my shoulders? ;) . Lucky you. While looking for some ideas for Hailey’s 2nd birthday party (uh…where did the last 2 years go?!? TWO YEARS!! calm down Stac…calm down…) I somehow came across this lovely website.  Just because its called Project Nursery, don’t think its just for nurseries. They have inspiring galleries and shops and posts on toddler’s rooms as well as every room in your home!

It is full of pretty pictures like this:

Um…sister-in-law…are you paying attention?!

and this…

Lots of cute stuff for boys too!! So go off and get lost in this fabulous website :) . Have a great weekend everyone!
