I really don’t have much to say. Right now cabin fever is hitting us pretty hard over here. The weeks and weeks of single digit temps and days on end of snow are wearing me down. I cannot stress how badly we want to be able to get into the car without having to spend an hour bundling up. Ugh…this weather just puts me in a bad mood!

But my mood got a little brighter the other morning when I woke up to this. My beautiful orchid finaly decided to sprout a bloom after 8  months of nothing. So maybe there is light at the end of the tunnel? Sigh…I went out and bought us some color to brighten things up a bit, its helping a little .

And because I’m feeling very random today…here’s some randomness for ya .

Even Daisy is ready for spring…see that look on her face? It says “&*#(*$&#@I%@# snow!!”

One of my photography rockstars is Tara Whitney. She’s amazing. Check her out . Too bad she lives out in Cali ~ but I’m working on convincing Justin to go out there for a family shoot…how cool would that be?! Anyway…I’ve been a fan of the out of focus image for quite a while (check out the 11th image…wow, I posted a LOT of that session!). So I was dilerious with excitement when I saw this on her blog! You’ll have to scroll down a bit to see the image. It feels pretty cool to know that I’m thinking along the same lines as her .

Anyway…life happens in the in betweens…that’s what its all about. As I say on my website, “Its the moments before the pose, or after the pose. The moments in between that make the memories.”

So, this morning while Hailey was happily painting with water…I got out my camera to capture these in betweens that we will cherish so many years down the road. Of course, being born in 2008 my daughter knows that there is a picture on the other side of my digital camera, so as soon as I pick it up she is screaming “baby! baby! baby!” {because, to her, every child ~ herself included ~ is “baby”}. Kind of throws a wrench in my plans…but today the water was keeping her busy enough that I could snap away.

So ~ here’s a reminder to all of you out there…with or without kiddos of your own. Take time each day to remember the in-betweens…because those are what are special…those are what will stay with us when they’re gone.

And yes…she did go *there* with the paint water! .

I ‘facebooked’ the other day that I needed to find more reasons to use the word swagger. It’s a fun word isn’t it? Swagger. Go ahead…say it. Now say it with attitude. Swagger. Yeah, I know you’ll all be finding ways to use it this week .

Anyway…this little dude definitely has it. I mean, look at him! If more of my clients showed up to sessions like this, I totally wouldn’t mind.

And this is little dude’s baby sister. She has swagger too…but in a completely different way. This girl does things on her own terms. Period.

We had a crazy (in a fun way!) session on Saturday that resulted in a nasty snowball fight.

We will definitely be getting together again in the spring ~ hopefully baby girl decides she wants to play then .

I got the honor of working with this family again over the weekend. They welcomed their sweet baby girl into the world last week and she could not be any more precious. She gave us a run for our money though . But we persisted and captured some beautiful images of the new family.

He’s such a good daddy .

Dear Hailey,

What a great month this has been! You are now 20 months old. You’re more than a year and a half…you’ve officially tipped the scale and are much closer to being 2 than you are to being 1. I’m honestly not sure I can handle that. So, if its ok with you, we’re just going to stop here…k? K. Glad we got that sorted out.

You never cease to amaze your daddy and me. Just this morning you were running around the kitchen while I made breakfast. I heard your high chair move and turned around and you were IN IT! You climbed into the high chair all by yourself. Punk.

You have become a serious parrot. You repeat any and everything you hear. And you repeat it a lot . *mental note ~ watch what you say around Hailey!*

I’m afraid we have created a monster. It used to be so adorable to look at you and say “I’m gonna get you” and wiggle our fingers like a witch. You would laugh hysterically as we chased you around the house. However…you now find it so funny that this is how we spend about 95% of our time. No need to work out, I bet I run 5 miles a day doing this . I do have to say though, its pretty freakin adorable to watch you come up to me and say “I’m gonna get you” and wiggle your fingers like a wtich . I’m going to have to get this on video.

You are beyond thrilled with yourself because you’ve learned how to walk down the stairs by yourself! This still freaks your mommy & daddy out, so we’re always one step in front of you ready to catch you if you fall. The absolute best part is when you get to the last step, you get the biggest smile and run over to us to give us the biggest hug! every. single. time. I love it!

I dont know when this happened, or who you got this from (ahem) but you are a fan of attention. You will bust out all your best moves to get someone to look at you .

And the best ~ you have gotten into the adorable habit of screaming…yes, screaming…I LOVE YOU at bedtime. And we wait outside your bedroom door, screaming I LOVE YOU back and forth until you fal asleep…its great .

I have found my home! Okay, I have pictures to post soon…promise. But I am currently being held hostage by Polyvore. Has anyone else discovered this gem?! It is incredible! You can browse through zillions of different things ~ clothes, shoes, accessories, home decorating accessories, furniture, etc. ~ and CREATE designs! You can create outfits for you, kids outfits, design your new living room, or your kiddos new room, your bathroom, even holiday decorating!! I don’t know where this beauty has been all my life, but I am so glad I found her! Here are just a few of the things I am loving!

Update: totally forgot to mention the best part! You can browse through other people’s little designs and each of the little items is clickable ~ you can click and it takes you directly to the site where you can buy it!!! How freakin cool is that?!

So, I’m going to continue drooling over this site and creating til my hands are numb! (until Hailey wakes up at least, then we’re going to a Superbowl party, of course ) Do yourself a favor and check it out!
